Slovak Pétanque Federation is proud to receive CEP and all European federations in Bratislava, the capital of Slovak Republic for 8th European Championship Women Triplets. Welcome players, coaches and heads of delegations.

Our young federation, established  in 1994 and since 2002 is a member of CEP and FIPJP, enthusiastically supports pétanque in Slovakia and central Europe. SFP is also co-founding federation of Centrope Cup held for already 8 years where hundreds of players from our region are meeting during six weekends always in one of 6 countries to play.

This European Championship organised in Bratislava, while Slovakia is the country holding the European Council presidency, is a perfect presentation and a spring board for slovak pétanque.

We are grateful to CEP who complimented us with organisation of this competition.

Word of thanks belongs to all Slovak institutions, ministries and to the Region of Bratislava for a help with funding and smooth continuance of this event.

Thanks to all partner companies without which we would not be able to organize a championship of these dimensions.

Last but not least gratitude is towards all volunteers from Slovak Pétanque Federation available for already few months and who are sharing their know-how, experience, contacts and dedicate their free time to preparations of this European Championship.

We wish you a pleasant stay in Bratislava and a beautiful tournament!

Mike Pegg, President CEP

Dear friends, I am very happy to welcome you to the 8th European Triples Championship for Women in Bratislava, Slovakia.

For the Confédération Européenne de Pétanque and our pétanque family this is the first European Championship in Slovakia and I am sure it is to be the first of many.

Until the end of December the Presidency of the European Union Council is with Slovakia, add to this that Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia it seems only appropriate that for this weekend it should also become the centre of European pétanque.

Being here we all serve a common goal - uniting cultures through sport and advertising the power of mind, body and will.  I’m sure at this Championship all the participants will perform at their best, competing in a fair play manner, respecting the rules and the opponents and as a result win the admiration of the spectators.

The Confédération Européenne de Pétanque greatly appreciates the efforts made by the Organising Committee, the Slovakian Pétanque Federation, all the volunteers and sponsors without whom this Championship would not be possible.

It only remains for me to wish you all the very best of luck.

Mike Pegg, President

Confédération Européenne de Pétanque
